Responsibilities
- Own the reliability and lifecycle operations of AWS-based infrastructure, including EC2, S3, RDS/Aurora, resource management, AMI strategies, backups, and recovery posture.
- Monitor and improve infrastructure and database observability using Datadog, CloudWatch, and related monitoring tools.
- Operate and optimize Aurora/RDS clusters, including replication, query performance, database load, and resilience improvements.
- Own Commvault backup integrity, restore validation, disaster recovery testing, SLA adherence, reporting, and audit readiness.
- Manage certificates, access provisioning, credential governance, SOX compliance, and operational security requirements.
- Lead root-cause analysis, incident engineering, runbook and SOP improvements, and automation of repetitive operational tasks in a 24×7 production environment.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS/Aurora, CloudWatch, Auto Scaling, AWS Lambda, EBS, EFS, DynamoDB, VPC, subnets, load balancers, and Route 53.
- Experience designing and implementing highly available, scalable, and fault-tolerant architectures, including multi-AZ deployments and disaster recovery strategies.
- Strong experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Datadog, CloudWatch, and Prometheus/Grafana.
- Hands-on experience with backup and recovery solutions such as Commvault, including disaster recovery planning and testing.
- Solid understanding of distributed systems, reliability engineering, database operations, replication, backup, restore, and performance tuning.
- Experience in high-availability production environments with critical uptime requirements and 24×7 operations.
- Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills, with the ability to operate calmly and precisely under production pressure.
- Python or Shell scripting experience for automation is preferred.
- Experience with ITIL, incident management frameworks, SOX compliance, regulated environments, and AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate certifications is preferred.
