Responsibilities
- Prepare technical design specifications and knowledge-transfer materials based on functional requirements.
- Review requirements, analysis, and design documents and provide feedback.
- Implement, test, maintain, support, and improve software systems and existing codebases.
- Lead architecture, design, implementation, code reviews, and technical decision-making for scalable web services.
- Identify system-quality issues and develop improvement recommendations and standard operating procedures.
- Investigate new technologies and integrate technical designs with colleagues and cross-functional teams.
- Assist customer support with technical problems and questions.
- Lead or participate in projects while mentoring less experienced developers and driving delivery outcomes.
Requirements
- At least 10 years of experience developing systems or software for large business environments, including Java Enterprise Edition experience.
- Strong object-oriented design and service-oriented architecture principles, with Java preferred.
- Extensive experience leading the architecture, design, and implementation of robust, highly scalable web services.
- Experience with AWS and/or Azure SaaS infrastructure, DevOps technologies, and extensive debugging.
- Understanding of unit, test-driven, functional, and performance testing.
- At least 8 years of experience developing mission-critical, low-latency solutions for large business environments.
- At least 5 years of experience developing and debugging distributed systems and working with cloud-based big-data systems.
- Experience with React, SQL and NoSQL databases, data architecture, shell scripting, software security practices, and cloud technologies.
- Experience with Pulsar and Snowflake is a plus, as is knowledge of big-data and machine-learning technologies.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; a master's degree is a plus.
- Strong communication, presentation, facilitation, organizational, customer-focus, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
