Base Salary
$225k - $250k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the technical vision and long-term architecture of Scribe's monetization platform.
- Set the technical standard for the billing engineering team and mentor junior engineers.
- Drive the design of systems for new pricing models and products.
- Own the entitlements and access control layer between billing state and product access.
- Define and maintain infrastructure for Finance and Revenue Operations.
- Partner with Growth leads to ensure coherent monetization and growth systems.
- Collaborate with various teams to translate business requirements into system design.
- Identify and eliminate architectural gaps that create financial risk.
- Shape the technical direction for self-serve subscriptions and enterprise invoicing.
- Contribute to hiring, onboarding, and engineering culture on the monetization team.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, particularly in monetization or billing systems.
- Experience owning the technical strategy for a monetization platform.
- Familiarity with revenue pipelines, financial reporting, or billing infrastructure.
- Ability to reason across the full monetization stack including pricing models and entitlements.
- Design for evolution to accommodate changing pricing and product expansions.
- Effective communication with Finance and Revenue Operations teams.
- Strong opinions on correctness, idempotency, and durability in system design.
- Strong backend engineering fundamentals; Python and Django experience is a plus.
