Responsibilities
- Contribute to backend systems that power Fortnite experiences.
- Own a feature as part of the development cycle and participate in the team’s day-to-day work.
- Write code with attention to security, scalability, and maintainability.
- Collaborate with experienced engineers, Fortnite product owners, and producers to develop solutions for upcoming Fortnite seasons.
- Provide task updates and communicate effectively in a remote-first team environment.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Java or a similar object-oriented programming language.
- Experience with AI-assisted coding tools such as Claude Code.
- Foundational analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively and provide task updates.
- Willingness to ask questions, seek guidance, and learn from feedback.
- Familiarity with AWS is preferred.
- Familiarity with Unix-like systems is a plus.
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the posting location for the duration of the internship.
