Base Salary
$220k - $405k/yr
Responsibilities
- Engineer agent harnesses connecting AI models with environments and tools to perform valuable work for users.
- Drive AI capabilities across multiple layers of Perplexity’s agent products.
- Develop and use AI models, infrastructure, and browser technologies to scale agent capabilities.
- Improve AI agent performance and user experience quality.
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, product managers, data scientists, and other teams to integrate Perplexity functionality into agentic products.
- Contribute to reliability, code quality, AI evaluation, testing, and maintenance.
Requirements
- Strong foundational familiarity with the full AI product stack.
- Proficiency in Python.
- Significant experience in context engineering and tool interfaces, post-training and reinforcement learning, browser technologies, or extension development.
- Strong product intuition and commitment to excellent user experience.
- Comfort working in a small, fast-moving team and taking ownership.
- TypeScript, Go, and/or Rust experience is a plus.
- Passion for shipping products that surprise and delight users.
