Base Salary
$223k - $259k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and operate the Symphony agent execution runtime, including agent topology, handoffs, deterministic gates, messaging, session lifecycle, and recovery behavior.
- Design typed, versioned toolpacks, repository-backed recipes, sandboxed execution boundaries, lease handling, process-tree ownership, and MCP servers.
- Create evaluations, benchmarks, metrics, telemetry, error taxonomies, and cost attribution systems to improve agent quality and efficiency.
- Integrate routing and inference infrastructure while tuning context, caching, model selection, latency, accuracy, and cost.
- Partner with Ditto engineering teams to convert workflows into trusted briefs, establish reusable patterns, and mentor engineers.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including meaningful production experience building and operating LLM-backed systems.
- Hands-on experience with tool and function calling, multi-agent orchestration, context and prompt engineering, structured output, and diagnosing agent-system failures.
- Strong developer-tooling experience with CLIs, build systems, CI/CD, or internal platforms.
- Experience building evaluations or benchmarks and using measurement to compare approaches.
- Strong Python skills, including asynchronous programming, typed interfaces, and Pydantic or similar tools, plus systems fundamentals involving processes, sandboxing, and filesystems.
- Demonstrated ownership, technical direction, communication, ambiguity navigation, and collaboration with internal customers in distributed teams.
- Preferred experience with MCP, sandboxing, host isolation, process supervision, network and filesystem boundaries, resource leases, macOS toolchains, Xcode, and iOS simulators.
- Preferred release engineering experience involving artifact provenance, staged promotion, benchmarking, and rollback.
- Preferred experience with OpenTelemetry, observability, cost accounting, model routing and serving, vLLM, prefix caching, GPU capacity planning, open-weight models, fine-tuning, or post-training.
- Familiarity with Rust, Swift, or Kotlin and experience with fast-growing startup environments or 0-to-1 platform work are advantageous.
