Responsibilities
- Design and implement production applications using Java 17+ and Spring Boot 3.x.
- Develop REST APIs, microservices, API contracts, validation, abstraction boundaries, and error-handling strategies.
- Build production user interfaces with React and TypeScript.
- Integrate relational databases using JDBC, JPA, or equivalent technologies.
- Deploy and support containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes, preferably AKS.
- Implement authentication and authorization using Spring Security and OAuth2/OIDC patterns.
- Develop automated tests with JUnit 5, Mockito, MockMvc, and integration-testing techniques.
- Troubleshoot issues across UI, API, database, and integration layers.
- Implement production observability with structured logging, correlation IDs, metrics, and health checks.
- Make engineering trade-offs, document architectural decisions, and mentor less-experienced engineers.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on software-development experience with Java 17+ and Spring Boot 3.x.
- Deep understanding of Java fundamentals, including collections, streams, concurrency, object-oriented design, and modern Java language features.
- Strong experience designing and implementing REST APIs and microservices.
- Hands-on experience developing production applications with React and TypeScript.
- Strong knowledge of Spring Security, OAuth2/OIDC authentication and authorization patterns, SQL, and relational database integration.
- Experience designing applications for distributed and cloud environments.
- Hands-on experience with Docker and containerized application development.
- Practical experience deploying and supporting applications on Kubernetes, preferably AKS.
- Experience with Git-based development, CI/CD pipelines, secure coding, and OWASP application-security principles.
- Preferred experience with Azure, AKS, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft Graph, Azure Workload Identity, Key Vault, Databricks, ADLS, Trino, Starburst, Terraform, Helm, and Redis or other distributed caching/session solutions.
