Responsibilities
- Architect and operate real-time and streaming production ML systems with high availability, low latency, and dependable fallback mechanisms.
- Build and optimize data pipelines and inference workflows using PySpark on Databricks, Kafka, and Airflow or Prefect.
- Migrate feature stores and model serving to Databricks while maintaining online/offline consistency and point-in-time correctness.
- Lead technical delivery of the Smart Payment Retry engine and deploy ML-driven payment recovery policies across international markets.
- Establish MLOps practices including model registry versioning, automated validation, CI/CD automation, monitoring, experimentation, and infrastructure as code.
- Implement drift detection, shadow deployments, kill switches, and other production safeguards.
- Collaborate with data scientists on model production readiness and mentor teammates on system design and AI-augmented engineering workflows.
- Operate, instrument, monitor, and continuously improve systems in production.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience taking machine learning systems from prototype to high-traffic, low-latency cloud environments.
- Hands-on daily experience with AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Copilot.
- Strong command of Python, SQL, and PySpark on Databricks.
- Experience with containerized and serverless model deployment.
- Familiarity with AWS, Databricks Model Serving, Airflow, Kafka, or Terraform and proven ability to build automated CI/CD pipelines.
- Deep data and ML engineering expertise, production model or data-product operations experience, and statistical literacy for designing experiments and interpreting results.
- Knowledge of model evaluation, precision/recall tradeoffs, drift, and A/B testing.
- Strong product judgment, ownership, communication, and willingness to work across specializations.
