Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain ING’s VISTA Data Analytics Fallback Platform.
- Develop resilient data platform capabilities supporting critical workloads during disaster recovery and fallback scenarios.
- Build and operate data processing, orchestration, storage, and metadata-management solutions using Apache Spark, Apache Airflow, Apache Iceberg, Trino, and object storage.
- Implement replication, synchronization, reconciliation, backup, restore, recovery, and business continuity mechanisms for critical datasets.
- Build and optimize analytical and batch-processing pipelines using modern cloud and data technologies.
- Improve platform observability through monitoring, logging, alerting, and operational readiness practices.
- Ensure platform reliability, security, recoverability, and operational resilience.
- Collaborate with platform, infrastructure, security, and data engineering teams on architecture, engineering standards, automation, and technical roadmaps.
- Participate in operational support, readiness activities, and on-call work when required.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience in Data Engineering, Platform Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering.
- Hands-on experience in at least one relevant domain: data processing and analytics; data lake and storage; platform and infrastructure; or reliability and operations.
- Practical knowledge of technologies including Apache Spark, DBT, Python, SQL, BigQuery, Trino, Apache Iceberg, Hive Metastore, MinIO/S3-compatible object storage, Google Cloud Storage, Kubernetes, Docker, Linux, Keycloak, and Ceph.
- Experience building, operating, or supporting modern data platforms and distributed data-processing environments.
- Practical experience with Google Cloud Platform and cloud-native technologies.
- Experience with automation, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code practices.
- Experience with Airflow-based orchestration, large-scale data platforms, disaster recovery, business continuity, lakehouse architectures, data replication, or cloud-to-on-premises workload migration is advantageous.
