Responsibilities
- Act as a technical owner for API-first architecture across the company.
- Design, build, and evolve high-scale APIs for internal teams and external customers.
- Lead the development of agentic workflows, including orchestration and state management.
- Drive API standards and best practices through hands-on work and technical reviews.
- Tackle complex cross-team problems with ambiguous requirements.
- Partner with Product, Platform, and SRE teams to ensure API reliability and scalability.
- Identify and mitigate systemic technical risks while enabling team agility.
- Mentor senior engineers and elevate the technical standards through example.
Requirements
- Extensive experience as a senior staff or principal-level software engineer.
- Experience building product platforms or shared services for multiple teams.
- Proven track record of designing and operating APIs at scale.
- Strong hands-on experience with RESTful APIs.
- Some experience with GraphQL in production environments.
- Deep understanding of system design, performance, and reliability.
- Strong bias towards hands-on contribution and ownership of systems.
- Ability to influence technical direction through credibility and execution.
