Responsibilities
- Plan, design, develop, test, debug, and enhance software systems and applications.
- Investigate product-level issues, identify faulty components, and reason across Forcepoint’s product portfolio for reuse opportunities.
- Collaborate with Product Managers and other teams to consolidate requirements into technical roadmaps and approaches.
- Lead product-level initiatives through task decomposition, time and resource planning, and work assignments.
- Track industry and technology developments and present relevant advancements to engineering groups, customers, and conference audiences.
- Identify innovation opportunities and contribute to patentable ideas.
- Optimize software delivery processes, including code reviews and CI pipelines.
- Mentor, interview, and hire junior engineers and support their skills development.
Requirements
- Expertise in multiple programming languages, such as Java, C, C++, C#, Python, Perl, Assembler, and Go.
- Strong understanding of web APIs, TCP/IP, SSL/TLS, DNS, HTTP, SMTP, debuggers, disassemblers, Linux, and Windows.
- Strong understanding of software products, business aspects, and end-to-end architecture.
- Demonstrated innovation, creativity, technical thought leadership, and ability to solve highly complex problems.
- Strong project-level leadership and ability to present internally and externally.
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or a related field and 10+ years of related experience, or equivalent work experience.
