Responsibilities
- Develop scalable, highly available backend platforms and microservices using Java, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, and cloud PaaS technologies.
- Build and scale backend services and data pipelines that transform customer conversations into insights.
- Integrate AI and LLM services, including prompt design, structured output, evaluation, and cost and latency management.
- Use message buses, cloud functions, noSQL databases, Kubernetes, and other PaaS components to support scalability, reliability, and operability.
- Participate in requirements analysis and feature grooming, and communicate architecture and implementation decisions clearly.
- Own production code through on-call support, troubleshooting, and uptime responsibilities.
- Develop automated test cases and apply design patterns and separation of concerns in distributed systems.
- Work collaboratively within an Agile/Scrum team while following application and data security best practices.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software development experience.
- High proficiency in Java, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, and REST API design.
- Hands-on experience building AI-powered products or services with practical LLM integration.
- Experience designing and implementing scalable, event-driven microservices and distributed systems.
- Experience with PaaS-hosted relational and noSQL databases such as MySQL, BigQuery, DataStore, and Redis.
- Experience with public cloud technologies, Kubernetes, noSQL databases, and message buses.
- Experience with automated testing tools such as JUnit.
- Experience with operational code ownership, including on-call support, troubleshooting, and uptime.
- Strong understanding of security best practices for protecting applications and data.
- Experience working within an Agile/Scrum team and strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Reactive programming experience, large-scale data processing and analytics, speech recognition, natural language processing, and contact center software experience are preferred or advantageous.
- Familiarity with AI coding tools such as Claude Code is preferred.
