Responsibilities
- Take infrastructure automation problems from definition through production deployment and measure the operational toil removed.
- Build agents that triage alerts, correlate service signals, draft or execute remediations, and escalate appropriately to humans.
- Ship LLM-powered copilots that help on-call engineers diagnose and resolve incidents.
- Convert manual Notion runbooks into agentic workflows that execute automatically.
- Build evaluation harnesses to validate infrastructure-agent recommendations and actions before deployment.
- Collaborate with SREs, platform engineers, and developers to automate incident response and operations.
- Experiment with models, tools, and agent architectures for infrastructure use cases and validate results in production.
Requirements
- 2–6 years of experience.
- Background from an engineering or computer science school, or current enrollment at such a school with equivalent builder experience.
- Daily AI-assisted development workflow using tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, custom agents, or MCPs.
- Fluency with open-source models including Llama, Mistral, Qwen, DeepSeek, GLM, and Kimi, including their trade-offs in quality, cost, and latency.
- Hands-on infrastructure literacy across cloud, Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD, observability, Prometheus queries, Terraform plans, and Sev2 incident response.
- Evidence of shipping through side projects, open-source contributions, internal tools, or hackathon projects.
- Ability to work independently in ambiguous, multi-hat environments and explain technical design choices clearly.
- An evaluation-oriented approach to AI work, including building small evaluations before shipping.
- Preferred experience building multi-agent systems, deploying AI automation into on-call or operations workflows, fine-tuning models, publishing public technical artifacts, or contributing to AI tooling, infrastructure-as-code, or observability projects.
