Base Salary
$144k - $224k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain foundational software services and interface architectures for Amazon Leo government customers.
- Develop high-data-rate network packet-processing systems and enabling interface software using network-layer packet processing and Software Defined Networking.
- Create and use simulated test environments to demonstrate interface and architecture capabilities.
- Solve complex technical problems involving the Amazon Leo constellation as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Lead internal and vendor teams in developing and delivering software and interface requirements.
- Ensure systems satisfy availability, reliability, upgradeability, interoperability, performance, and security requirements.
- Communicate project health, risks, and issues to stakeholders and management, escalate urgent issues, and drive them to closure.
- Provide visualizations, document results, and communicate findings across multidisciplinary project teams.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of non-internship professional software development experience is listed in the posting; an additional qualification section lists 3+ years.
- At least 5 years of programming experience with one software programming language is listed; an additional qualification section lists experience with at least one language.
- At least 5 years of leading system design or architecture is listed; an additional qualification section lists 2+ years of design or architecture experience.
- Experience mentoring, serving as a technical lead, or leading an engineering team.
- Experience with full software development life cycle activities, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Experience designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded, or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services.
- Experience with object-oriented design.
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent where stated.
- U.S. citizenship is required because of U.S. government-imposed requirements.
