Base Salary
$180k - $240k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs for tracing, monitoring, and evaluation workflows.
- Contribute to architectural decisions focused on performance and maintainability.
- Optimize storage and query performance for high-volume observability and evaluation data.
- Improve system reliability through testing, monitoring, and alerting practices.
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement long-term fixes.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including system design and API references.
- Collaborate with full-stack engineers, product managers, and product designers on new features.
Requirements
- 4+ years of professional backend engineering experience working on highly complex products.
- Proficiency in one or more backend languages or frameworks, ideally Python and/or Go.
- Strong understanding of API design and reliable data services.
- Experience with high-throughput, mission-critical systems.
- Demonstrated ability to optimize backend services for performance and reliability.
- Experience with Postgres, Redis, and ClickHouse is beneficial.
- Experience with AWS, GCP, and Azure is beneficial.
- Strong communication, cross-functional collaboration, customer centricity, and ownership mentality.
