Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain highly reliable software for Starlink Ground Network capacity planning, forecasting, and optimization.
- Develop scalable data pipelines and backend services that process telemetry, inventory, cost, and usage data into capacity models and KPIs.
- Create simulation, optimization, and forecasting engines to predict network needs, identify bottlenecks, and recommend deployment strategies.
- Collaborate with network engineers, operators, software teams, and external partners to connect planning models with real-world performance.
- Own the full software lifecycle from architecture and implementation through testing, deployment, monitoring, and iteration.
- Analyze capacity, cost, and scaling problems, prototype solutions, and quantify technical constraints.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, math, physics, or another STEM discipline, or 3+ years of professional software development experience in lieu of a degree.
- At least 1 year of professional experience in software engineering, data engineering, or a related field.
- Development experience in an object-oriented or systems programming language such as C++, Python, Go, Java, or C#.
- Preferred experience with capacity planning, forecasting, optimization, inventory, logistics, supply-chain, or network infrastructure systems.
- Preferred backend experience with APIs, data pipelines, and in-stream processing of structured or semi-structured data.
- Preferred experience with relational and non-relational databases, data lakes, ETL/ELT pipelines, Kubernetes, Docker, production monitoring, data visualization, networking, numerical optimization, graph algorithms, simulation, or predictive modeling.
- Ability to take initiative, work in ambiguous and dynamic environments, deliver end-to-end solutions, and communicate effectively across teams.
Benefits
- Base salary range is $125,000.00-$165,000.00 for Level 1 and $145,000.00-$200,000.00 for Level 2.

- Company shuttles are available Monday through Friday for roundtrip travel from select Seattle locations to the SpaceX Redmond office.
- Employment is subject to ITAR eligibility requirements or the ability to obtain required U.S. Department of State authorizations.
