Responsibilities
- Build clean, well-tested, performant browser-extension features spanning user-facing UI, security logic, and detection capabilities.
- Implement security-sensitive logic that runs on page loads while minimizing latency and memory usage and preserving browsing performance.
- Produce readable, modular, maintainable code and participate in and elevate code reviews.
- Write unit and integration tests and debug issues across background scripts, content scripts, popups, and extension pages using browser developer tools.
- Collaborate with UI/UX designers, backend engineers, and QA to deliver features end to end.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional software development experience, including meaningful production frontend development in TypeScript and/or JavaScript.
- Experience developing browser extensions for Chrome, Firefox, and/or Safari, including extension APIs, MV2/MV3 manifest versions, permission models, content scripts, background/service workers, and extension pages.
- Strong command of core JavaScript ES6+ and TypeScript types, async/await, closures, modules, and language behavior.
- Experience with at least one modern frontend framework or reactive UI library such as React, Vue, or Svelte.
- Proficiency with HTML5 and CSS3 for responsive, component-based user interfaces.
- Curiosity and active exploration of AI tools, with a history of integrating new technologies into daily workflows and problem-solving.
- Preferred: experience publishing extensions to a major browser store or supporting multiple browser engines such as Chromium, Gecko, and WebKit.
- Preferred: familiarity with esbuild, Vite, Rollup, or Webpack and frontend build-pipeline optimization.
- Preferred: basic understanding of web application security risks and safe coding practices, plus exposure to Node.js for tooling, scripting, or API integration.
