Base Salary
$143k - $243k/yr
Responsibilities
- Deploy, operate, and troubleshoot production Kubernetes clusters across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
- Design and maintain automated remediation, self-healing, alerting, and runbook systems to reduce MTTR and operational toil.
- Contribute to monitoring, incident management, log aggregation, and observability tooling for global on-call operations.
- Develop SLO frameworks, alerting policies, automated runbooks, Infrastructure-as-Code frameworks, and GitOps pipelines.
- Support hybrid cloud, data center, multi-region, containerization, microservices, DevOps, CI/CD, and network security operations.
- Participate in on-call rotations, incident response, post-incident reviews, and continuous reliability improvements.
- Mentor junior SRE engineers and share reliability, incident investigation, and automation practices.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering or infrastructure operations experience, including 3+ years in SRE, DevOps, or cloud platform engineering with a bachelor's degree; alternatives include 3 years with a master's degree, a PhD without experience, or equivalent work experience.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience operating production Kubernetes clusters.
- Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform: AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Proficiency with at least one Infrastructure-as-Code tool such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Experience with on-call operations, incident response, automated remediation, and alert systems.
- Strong Linux system administration, performance troubleshooting, and scripting skills using Python, Go, or Bash.
- Understanding of distributed systems, fault tolerance, resilience patterns, hybrid cloud concepts, and 24/7 operational models.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Preferred qualifications include CKA or CKAD certification, service mesh or advanced Kubernetes networking experience, cloud migration or modernization experience, cloud cost optimization, and significant operational toil reduction.
