Responsibilities

  • Define, design, and govern end-to-end architecture across frontend, middleware, APIs, backend, and integration layers.
  • Drive the technology strategy and architectural roadmap for B2C, B2B, and eCommerce web platforms.
  • Lead platform initiatives involving scalability, performance optimization, CDN and edge caching, operational resilience, observability, SLOs, and reliability metrics.
  • Identify systemic gaps, bottlenecks, technical debt, recurring defects, and root causes, and guide durable fixes.
  • Act as the technical authority for complex system design, architecture decisions, solution design, architecture reviews, and critical delivery milestones.
  • Provide hands-on guidance in key code areas and mentor engineering teams to improve technical quality and maturity.
  • Translate business requirements into scalable, implementation-ready solutions aligned with platform strategy.
  • Guide adoption of modular and monorepo architectures, microservices, API-first designs, event-driven designs, cloud-native practices, headless CMS, and composable architectures.
  • Lead architecture governance, design reviews, technical audits, decision gates, quality checkpoints, and regulatory alignment.
  • Partner with QA, DevOps, and Release Management on CI/CD, release governance, production readiness, and change impact analysis.
  • Communicate architecture vision, trade-offs, and risks to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, QA, and Business teams to align customer experience with platform capabilities.
  • Introduce tools, frameworks, and practices that improve developer productivity, platform performance, and delivery efficiency.

Requirements

  • 12–18+ years of experience in software engineering.
  • At least 5 years in architect-level roles leading large-scale web platforms.
  • Strong experience architecting enterprise web platforms across frontend, backend, and integration layers.
  • Deep understanding of logged-in and non-logged-in B2C, B2B, and eCommerce customer journeys.
  • Hands-on expertise with SvelteKit, React, Angular, headless UI, hybrid SSR/CSR rendering, and reusable components such as Quartz.
  • Hands-on expertise with Node.js, Java, serverless architectures such as Lambda, middleware aggregation, and server-side rendering.
  • Experience with third-party integrations for search, personalization, and content indexing.
  • Strong knowledge of APIs, microservices, REST and GraphQL services, API gateways, messaging, reverse-proxy routing, traffic handling, and CDN or edge caching.
  • Experience with CMS and composable platforms such as Builder.io and Spryker.
  • Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP and cloud service containers such as Amplify and K8.
  • Strong understanding of scalability, performance engineering, resilience patterns, and security best practices.
  • Experience with Dynatrace, telemetry, JMeter, load testing, and Core Web Vitals including LCP, CLS, and INP.
  • Exposure to CI/CD, DevOps practices, observability, monitoring tools, and Nx or monorepo-based setups.
  • Ability to own the complete solution lifecycle from architecture through execution alignment.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, decisive judgment, and problem-solving skills.
  • Preferred certifications include TOGAF or AWS Architect.
  • Proven experience with platform transformation initiatives and multi-team ecosystems.
