Base Salary
$163k - $219k/yr
Responsibilities
- Partner with UX designers, product managers, and engineering leadership to create TV-watching experiences.
- Architect and implement durable solutions with client and backend engineers.
- Develop test infrastructure, write documentation, and follow the team’s development methodology.
- Support the release process and remote configuration management.
- Manage production issues and solve novel engineering problems.
- Mentor associate and mid-level team members through code reviews and pair programming.
- Identify team-process improvements and develop collaboration systems.
- Own and deliver substantial product features for Hulu and Disney+ Android applications.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of Kotlin and Android development experience.
- Deep understanding of the Android SDK, Activity and Fragment lifecycles, thread management, custom views, Compose, and animations.
- Strong knowledge of Android application architecture patterns such as MVVM and MVI.
- Experience integrating backend systems, web services, and third-party software.
- Experience with reactive frameworks such as RxJava or Flow.
- Ability to lead a project from start to finish and collaborate effectively across teams.
- Experience writing tests, using Android Profiler, test automation, dependency injection frameworks, and continuous integration.
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a comparable field, and/or equivalent work experience.
- Preferred: familiarity with Scrum and Agile methodologies, Compose UI development, Android TV or Amazon Fire TV development, streaming video using DASH or HLS, codecs, and DRM.

- Hiring range is $163,100 to $218,700 per year, with potential bonus and/or long-term incentive units.
