Responsibilities
- Deliver eCommerce features supporting revenue growth, including Cart and Checkout capabilities.
- Architect, develop, and maintain robust, high-performance backend services and APIs using Node.js.
- Design and set up NoSQL databases and search indexes for end-to-end API flows.
- Solve complex technical challenges involving scale and performance.
- Mentor engineering peers and uphold high standards for code quality and development practices.
- Champion modern, maintainable infrastructure aligned with industry best practices and emerging technologies.
- Evaluate technical trade-offs based on cost, risk, and effort while considering customer impact.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in API development.
- Expert programming skills in Python, JavaScript, and Node.js.
- Understanding of SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS, with hands-on experience using public cloud offerings such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Experience with relational or NoSQL databases such as DynamoDB, search technologies such as OpenSearch, and Graph DB.
- Familiarity with API standards and frameworks and the ability to learn new backend technologies.
- Experience mentoring engineers and influencing decision-makers across the organization.
- Preferred experience with AI/LLM-driven use cases and coding AI tools such as Copilot and Windsurf.
- Strong problem-solving, written communication, and spoken communication skills, with the ability to work in a distributed team environment.
