Responsibilities
- Architect scalable and maintainable backend systems for energy billing and market-data challenges.
- Build and improve infrastructure supporting dynamic electricity plans and reliable billing flows.
- Develop foundational billing, market communication, and accounting ledger systems.
- Own features from design through production deployment.
- Contribute to engineering culture, code quality, and technical decision-making as an early team member.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience building reliable backend infrastructure in production environments.
- Proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js, including asynchronous programming patterns.
- Experience with PostgreSQL and ORM-based data access such as Drizzle.
- Hands-on experience with Next.js backend services, including API routes or server components.
- Familiarity with distributed systems and scalable core-service design.
- Strong computer science fundamentals through a formal degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Evidence of technical exceptionality through standout projects, competition results, research, founding experience, or comparable achievements.
- Experience in an early-stage startup environment or genuine interest in that context.
- Background in application-centric product or infrastructure work rather than narrowly specialized data-pipeline or AI-infrastructure domains.
- German fluency at C1 level or above.
- Current hands-on individual-contributor experience with recent production coding and shipping.
- Experience integrating Stripe payments and billing flows is a plus.
Benefits
- Salary of EUR 80,000 to EUR 120,000 per year.

- On-site in Berlin, Germany, five days per week.
