Base Salary
$145k - $230k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own database reliability across Aurora, OpenSearch, Redis, and the CDC pipeline.
- Conduct schema design reviews and ensure migration safety.
- Enhance the Django ORM for scalability and efficiency.
- Operate and evolve the CDC pipeline from Aurora to Snowflake.
- Build observability tools to track slow ORM queries.
- Drive multi-AZ resilience within the architecture.
- Create self-service tooling for product and platform teams.
- Contribute to onboarding and knowledge-sharing for new engineers.
Requirements
- Deep PostgreSQL expertise, including performance tuning and understanding of MVCC.
- Experience with an ORM at production scale, such as Django or SQLAlchemy.
- Hands-on experience with CDC pipelines, ideally using AWS DMS.
- Familiarity with observability tools like pganalyze and CloudWatch.
- Experience with OpenSearch, Redis, and a production message broker.
- Proficient in automation using Python, Go, or similar languages.
- Experience with AI coding and review tools in a team setting.
