Responsibilities

  • Own stablecoin-based money movement projects end to end as the directly responsible individual, from system design through production deployment.
  • Build backend systems, infrastructure, and internal and external APIs for stablecoin-powered payments.
  • Partner with Product, Design, Infrastructure, and Compliance to develop scalable solutions balancing speed, security, and regulatory needs.
  • Improve distributed-system performance, scalability, and reliability by identifying and resolving bottlenecks.
  • Contribute to code reviews, architectural best practices, and engineering patterns that improve technical quality.
  • Write technical design documents and communicate architecture trade-offs to product and engineering stakeholders.
  • Use generative AI responsibly with human oversight to improve workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of software engineering experience building and operating backend systems, ideally in fintech, payments, or crypto.
  • Proficiency in backend languages such as Go or Java and cloud infrastructure such as AWS or GCP.
  • Hands-on experience designing distributed systems and APIs.
  • Experience serving as the directly responsible individual for technical projects and delivering them from design through production deployment.
  • Experience integrating with or building blockchain or crypto technologies, including stablecoins, on-chain payments, or smart contract platforms such as Ethereum, Solana, or Base.
  • Ability to write technical design documents and communicate architecture trade-offs.

Benefits

  • Remote-first but not remote-only work arrangement, with quarterly in-person working sessions called surges.
  • Annual base salary range of $154,000—$154,000 CAD, excluding equity and bonus.
  • Eligibility for equity, bonus, medical, dental, and vision benefits.
