Base Salary

$93k - $123k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable batch and streaming data pipelines, data models, data products, and reusable data engineering components.
  • Develop and deploy Azure-based data workloads using services such as ADLS, Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Databricks, and Microsoft Fabric.
  • Apply software engineering practices including modular design, automated testing, version control, CI/CD, code reviews, and production-grade coding standards.
  • Implement data validation, monitoring, logging, lineage, alerting, observability, and operational controls for reliable production data services.
  • Collaborate with platform teams to improve tooling, automation, deployment, CI/CD, monitoring, and observability.
  • Partner with Product, Analytics, Data Science, and Engineering teams to deliver trusted datasets and business value.
  • Contribute to data engineering standards, design reviews, documentation, and improvements to reliability, scalability, and efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, Software Engineering, or related disciplines.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and SQL, with familiarity with Java or other backend programming languages preferred.
  • Experience building batch and streaming data pipelines, transformation frameworks, data models, and reusable data engineering components.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure data services such as ADLS, Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, or equivalent cloud data platforms.
  • Understanding of design patterns, modular coding, error handling, automated testing, CI/CD, Git-based workflows, and production-grade engineering practices.
  • Experience implementing data validation, monitoring, logging, lineage, and alerting for reliable data products.
  • Familiarity with containerization concepts and deployment automation for data engineering workloads.
  • Preferred experience with Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Airflow, Synapse Pipelines, Dagster, dbt, infrastructure as code, DevOps practices, machine learning feature engineering, training data preparation, data governance, event-driven architecture, real-time data processing, and Azure Data Engineer or equivalent cloud certification.
  • Strong ownership, accountability, communication, collaboration, and continuous-improvement skills.
