Base Salary

$117k - $246k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and operate telemetry, observability, logging, and alerting systems for real-time visibility into system health, reliability, and performance.
  • Advance observability capabilities toward proactive, AI- and agent-assisted issue detection, investigation, and root-cause analysis.
  • Build data pipelines and platform services integrating Workday, Salesforce, and other enterprise systems.
  • Enable operational, reporting, analytics, and emerging AI and agentic use cases through reliable and governed data.
  • Develop scalable infrastructure and services primarily on AWS, with some workloads on GCP.
  • Build and improve CI/CD pipelines with automated testing, security scanning, and vulnerability checks.
  • Collaborate with Employee Success, Finance, security, data, and engineering teams to improve platform capabilities, data reliability, and developer experience.
  • Participate in architecture discussions, design reviews, code reviews, technical planning, and documentation.
  • At the SMTS level, lead significant technical initiatives, influence architecture, mentor engineers, and establish reusable engineering standards.

Requirements

  • Professional experience building and operating production software systems.
  • Proficiency in one or more relevant programming languages such as Java, Python, or Go.
  • Experience with or strong interest in observability, telemetry, logging, alerting, data pipelines, or data platforms.
  • Familiarity with open-source technologies, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and foundational security or vulnerability-management practices.
  • Working knowledge of cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS; GCP experience is a plus.
  • Understanding of distributed systems, scalability, reliability, and system-design principles.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • MTS candidates typically have 3–5 years of professional software development experience or equivalent demonstrated capability.
  • SMTS candidates typically have 8 or more years of professional software development experience or equivalent demonstrated capability.
  • SMTS candidates should have experience designing and operating scalable platforms or shared services, leading complex initiatives, influencing stakeholders, and mentoring engineers.
  • Experience with AI or agentic approaches to observability, Workday or Salesforce integrations, MuleSoft, Kubernetes, Terraform, or CloudFormation is preferred.
