Base Salary
$200k - $220k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect and build scalable batch and streaming data platform capabilities.
- Develop data catalog, lineage, automation, scaling, and security-control capabilities.
- Build low-latency services for streaming and near-real-time ingestion, processing, and model inference.
- Support model deployment, monitoring, CI/CD for data pipelines, observability, and 99.99% availability.
- Partner with Product, Backend Engineering, Data Engineering, and Data Science teams to operationalize data capabilities.
- Enable self-service pipeline development, deployment, orchestration, and data exploration for data teams.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in platform engineering and a track record of deploying and maintaining scalable data platforms in high-traffic production environments.
- Proficiency with streaming architectures and low-latency services, including Kafka, Flink, or Pub/Sub.
- Proficiency with containerization, Docker, Kubernetes, and cluster-level management.
- Extensive experience with Spark, Flink, Kafka or Kinesis, Argo or Airflow, Polaris, OpenMetadata, Iceberg, Redis, Elasticsearch, and databases.
- Experience building full data-lifecycle platforms, data exploration environments, data storage, distributed processing systems, and data lakes.
- Expertise in Python and Go, with deep cloud-services experience; GCP services such as BigQuery, Cloud Functions, and GKE are preferred, with AWS equivalents accepted.
- Experience building REST APIs, managing packages, and developing libraries.
- Strong communication, stakeholder-management, problem-solving, and full-development-lifecycle experience.
- Preferred experience with large-scale data-platform infrastructure, data quality, compliance, lineage, secure access controls, internal data tools, AI-assisted analytics, DFS, oddsmaking, or high-frequency trading.
