Software Development Engineer in Test
SentinelOneResponsibilities
- Own quality strategy and functional, integration, and end-to-end test coverage for Cloud Security features and services.
- Design, build, and maintain scalable automation frameworks and test infrastructure emphasizing API and service-level validation, with UI testing where applicable.
- Create testing approaches for detection and policy engines, including validation of false positives and false negatives.
- Design and execute performance, scale, and resilience tests for services evaluating large volumes of cloud resources across regions and providers.
- Develop, execute, and improve automated test suites while analyzing failures, reporting issues, and driving engineering resolution.
- Own validation from feature design through release, including test planning, execution, triage, and sign-off.
- Extend quality coverage to cloud and on-premises data storage protection, including data discovery, classification, and exposure detection.
- Improve testability, observability, reliability, release readiness, quality processes, dashboards, reporting, and CI signals.
- Collaborate with developers, product managers, and QA and automation engineers to define test plans and improve release confidence.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in test automation or automation development.
- Strong product thinking and the ability to translate product behavior and customer workflows into effective test strategies.
- Hands-on experience with Selenium, Playwright, Python, and TypeScript.
- Experience building robust automation for complex systems and developing maintainable automation architectures and frameworks.
- Experience debugging issues deeply and working with developers to drive fixes.
- Strong experience with Jenkins-based CI pipelines and test execution workflows.
- Experience with Allure or similar test reporting and insights platforms.
- Strong problem-solving, ownership, self-management, collaboration, and independent-work skills.
- Cybersecurity product or security testing experience is a bonus.
- Experience with coding agents or AI-assisted development workflows, meaningful open source contributions, self-hosted or infrastructure-heavy products, or customer-specific deployment validation is a bonus.
