Responsibilities
- Translate strategically important business and technical problems into executable, extensible designs.
- Build, deliver, and review reliable, high-quality software, technical designs, and documentation.
- Drive improvements in availability, performance, scaling, monitoring, alerting, and capacity through design and automation.
- Manage upstream and downstream dependencies and collaborate with other engineering teams.
- Define coding, testing, monitoring, and alerting standards and lead the team in implementing them.
- Mentor and coach engineers and support their learning and career growth.
Requirements
- BS or MS degree in computer science or a similar technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 10+ years of experience as a software engineer building large-scale distributed systems.
- Strong coding skills in languages such as JavaScript, Java, or Go.
- Solid understanding of distributed systems architecture, including consensus, convergence, data consistency, and performance and efficiency constructs.
- Strong communication, collaboration, technical leadership, mentoring, and scalability problem-solving abilities.
