Base Salary
$200k - $325k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build end-to-end agent-based product functionality.
- Develop the orchestration engine, runtime, and core primitives for Serval’s agent platform.
- Design and evolve agentic loops and abstractions that make agents steerable, trustworthy, adaptive, and production-ready.
- Improve retrieval and grounding systems so agents use accurate organizational context.
- Build evaluation frameworks and feedback loops to measure, debug, and improve agent quality.
- Partner with product to deliver agent capabilities in customer-facing workflows and product experiences.
- Establish technical standards and best practices for reliable, high-performance agent systems.
Requirements
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and experience building production-grade systems.
- Experience building AI-powered systems, agent frameworks, or LLM-based applications in production.
- At least 4 years of hands-on experience building software products and systems in production environments.
- Experience designing reliable, scalable, and maintainable systems from first principles.
- Strong interest in building AI products and a clear perspective on useful real-world agents.
- High agency and comfort in a fast-moving, high-autonomy startup environment.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
- Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Preferred: experience with retrieval systems, grounding strategies, evaluation infrastructure, or modern agent architectures.
- Preferred: familiarity with Go and TypeScript.
- Preferred: early-stage startup experience or zero-to-one product development experience.
