Responsibilities

Contribute to technical vision and make architectural decisions for multi-cloud infrastructure, in-memory technologies, and system design.
Develop Python APIs, services, background workers, and database-backed applications using Postgres and Redis.
Design scalable, reliable, maintainable systems and integrate third-party APIs.
Create and optimize data models, schemas, indexes, and complex SQL queries.
Collaborate with software and production engineers on service design, feature rollouts, reliability, and performance.
Diagnose production issues, participate in on-call support, lead incident analysis, and drive preventative improvements.
Conduct code reviews, write documentation, and develop unit and integration test suites.
Drive operational maturity through observability, incident response, on-call practices, and reliability goals.
Work Eastern Time hours and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced Agile environment.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
7+ years of experience programming in Python.
5+ years of experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS or GCP.
5+ years of experience with Terraform or Infrastructure as Code concepts.
5+ years of experience with continuous integration and build tools.
Experience architecting systems from the ground up for scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
Experience with in-memory data processing and database monitoring and diagnostic tools, preferably Datadog.
Experience with Domain-Driven Design, third-party API integration, authentication and authorization, and asynchronous data flows.
Strong experience with unit and integration testing, test strategy, and coverage expectations.
Proficiency in writing and optimizing SQL queries.
Strong communication, collaboration, software design, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
Practical experience operating within and leading Agile development environments, including sprints and Agile ceremonies.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
