Responsibilities
- Build event-driven, horizontally scalable backend services that process work reliably under partial system failure.
- Develop real-time surfaces and integrations, including streaming connections, gateways, and CLIs, that operate under load.
- Integrate LLMs and agentic harnesses into production systems.
- Own features end to end from ideation and architecture through deployment, observability, and iteration.
- Improve engineering quality through clean, well-tested code, thoughtful reviews, and mentorship.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience shipping and operating production backend systems at scale.
- Strong proficiency in Python and the ability to write clean, well-tested, maintainable code.
- Deep distributed-systems knowledge, including correctness and availability under partial failure, backpressure, and load.
- Hands-on experience with event-driven, streaming, or real-time systems such as queues, pub/sub, or long-lived connections.
- Experience operating production services on Kubernetes in the cloud and instrumenting them with metrics, tracing, and dashboards.
- Strong API and software-architecture judgment with the ability to make sensible trade-offs in ambiguous situations.
- LLM/agentic and developer-facing product experience, including MCP, RAG, APIs, SDKs, or CLIs, is strongly preferred.
- High agency, ownership, reliability mindset, product-mindedness, AI-native workflow, and excellent written communication.
