Responsibilities
- Implement production-grade AI/ML software applications and pipelines at cloud scale for Apple’s Reliability department.
- Build scalable full-stack tools that automate workflows and surface insights from hardware test data.
- Collaborate with hardware and software engineering teams to design robust AI/ML applications and iterate on evolving requirements.
- Bridge business needs and production software by refining requirements with stakeholders and delivering organizational tools.
- Support contractors, drive projects forward, present technical concepts to leadership, and contribute to technical strategy.
- Research emerging AI/ML technologies and integrate suitable models, protocols, and techniques into production.
- Build or integrate agentic AI systems, LLM tool-use patterns, AI-assisted development workflows, observability capabilities, and potentially computer vision solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Machine Learning, or a related field.
- Exposure to software engineering through internships and a strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design.
- Experience or exposure to building web applications with Python, FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, TypeScript, React, and Next.js.
- Experience or exposure to containerized services on Kubernetes using EKS, Helm, and Terraform.
- Exposure to applied AI engineering and building production-level solutions with generative AI and machine learning.
- Ability to follow engineering-lead direction, collaborate with stakeholders, refine requirements, and move projects toward completion.
- Strong communication and presentation skills for explaining technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Preferred experience includes multi-tenant platforms, container image builds, workload isolation, RBAC, secure callback architectures, OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, distributed tracing, and computer vision for segmentation, anomaly detection, or objective grading.
