Responsibilities
- Design, develop, modify, integrate, test, debug, and document complex information systems, applications, programs, subroutines, and scripts.
- Build reusable React Native components and optimize customer-facing mobile application performance across iOS and Android devices.
- Integrate APIs and third-party services and troubleshoot complex distributed-system issues using tools such as Postman or Fiddler.
- Develop and implement program and system test plans and devise data verification methods and standard system procedures.
- Respond to system failures and performance events to reduce downtime and prevent recurrence.
- Act as an expert technical resource to development staff throughout application development and implementation.
- Conduct research on software and hardware products to support recommendations, budgeting, and purchasing when needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience is required.
- At least 5 years of systems and programming experience is required.
- At least 1 year of experience with information technology concepts, application development methodology, terminology, and standards is required.
- At least 1 year of expert working knowledge of a programming language used at BCBST is required.
- Strong React Native cross-platform mobile development, JavaScript/TypeScript, React architecture, state management, reusable component, and application performance skills are required.
- Proven information technology, analysis, design, coding, and leadership skills are required, including success leading large and complex projects.
- Top-level technical experience in one or more specialized areas of application systems analysis and programming is required.
- Ability to translate technical and complex concepts for technical and business audiences and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical coworkers is required.
- Experience publishing applications to the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, using native integrations such as push notifications, biometrics, and device APIs, and debugging APIs with Postman or Fiddler is preferred.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and native mobile development using Swift, Kotlin, or Java is preferred.
