Base Salary
$190k - $250k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own and maintain infrastructure and self-hosted deployments for large enterprise customers in the federal and defense sectors.
- Expand the self-hosted control plane with capabilities including licensing, observability, and automated updates.
- Improve and continuously evaluate security configurations in self-hosted environments.
- Support customers in establishing and implementing compliant deployment architectures.
- Contribute to the product codebase to improve deployability, security, observability, and reliability across heterogeneous environments.
- Diagnose deep technical issues in novel environments with limited system or application context.
- Improve observability and automation to make future debugging more efficient and reduce operational toil.
- Own high-level architecture, design, implementation, and technical direction for major areas of infrastructure.
Requirements
- Strong engineering foundation with the ability to build, debug, and maintain complex distributed systems.
- Demonstrated ownership or production experience with Kubernetes clusters through work, research, or substantial personal projects.
- Experience diagnosing and resolving distributed-systems failures.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Pulumi or Terraform.
- Comfort navigating unfamiliar codebases.
- Broad practical knowledge of networking, operating systems, cybersecurity, and related computing fields.
- Exceptional communication skills for translating between engineering, infrastructure, and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to learn and apply new concepts quickly in high-consequence environments.
- Experience with regulated environments such as FedRAMP and compliance requirements including CMMC, NIST SP 800-53, IL-5/6, or FedRAMP Moderate is a plus.
- Previous forward-deployed engineering experience in the government sector is a plus.
- TS/SCI clearance is a plus.
