Responsibilities
- Research, build, and implement scalable artificial intelligence and machine learning systems that make predictions for business requirements.
- Enhance data pipelines and data lakes to improve data quality and optimize datasets for machine learning models.
- Design, develop, train, retrain, monitor, evaluate, and optimize machine learning and deep learning systems.
- Run machine learning tests and experiments, perform statistical analysis, and interpret results.
- Extend ML frameworks, optimize machine learning libraries, and build applications and tools that apply ML algorithms.
- Transform unstructured data into useful information through applications such as image auto-tagging and text-to-speech conversion.
- Collaborate with data and analytics professionals to automate and scale analysis into repeatable analytics solutions and decision-support tools.
- Apply BMO's Risk Management Framework, policies, standards, procedures, laws, and regulations when making decisions.
Requirements
- Typically 5–7 years of relevant experience.
- Post-secondary degree in a related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Advanced proficiency in computational thinking, programming, deep learning, machine learning, scaling models, ML algorithms, and continuous integration and delivery/deployment.
- Intermediate proficiency in mathematics, statistics, and operations research.
- Foundational systems-thinking proficiency plus critical thinking, creative reasoning, communication, collaboration, analytical problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making skills.
- Deep technical knowledge and proficiency gained through extensive education and business experience.
- Ability to work independently, exercise judgment, and handle non-routine situations.
