Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate enterprise cloud and Kubernetes platform capabilities across AWS, Azure, hybrid, on-premises, and edge environments.
- Translate architecture standards into reusable platform services, engineering patterns, automation, and operational capabilities.
- Lead technical design and implementation for strategic platform initiatives and mentor engineering teams.
- Design Kubernetes capabilities covering cluster lifecycle, nodes, networking, storage, secrets, certificates, observability, backup, recovery, and security controls.
- Develop Terraform infrastructure modules and deployment frameworks, and implement GitOps patterns using Argo CD or approved alternatives.
- Implement CI/CD, vulnerability management, policy enforcement, secrets management, certificate management, reliability, and recovery capabilities.
- Develop automated validation and qualification frameworks for Kubernetes releases, infrastructure, integrations, security controls, platform services, edge deployments, and GPU-enabled configurations.
- Partner with architecture, security, infrastructure, operations, and application teams on roadmaps, technology evaluations, standards, and operational readiness.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree with 5+ years of total experience.
- Experience in platform engineering, cloud engineering, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, infrastructure engineering, or related technical disciplines.
- Strong knowledge of AWS and/or Azure and hands-on experience with enterprise Kubernetes platforms such as Amazon EKS, Azure Kubernetes Service, OpenShift, or RKE2.
- Experience with Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, GitOps, Linux administration, containers, cloud networking and security, observability, and monitoring solutions.
- Experience implementing highly available, secure, and scalable platform solutions with strong troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Preferred experience with AWS Control Tower, landing zones, account governance, cloud security services, Argo CD, Helm, JFrog Artifactory, Security Hub, CloudTrail, CloudFront, Audit Manager, Azure security services, and governance tooling.
- Preferred experience with manufacturing, edge or distributed platforms, disconnected environments, GPU-enabled infrastructure, AI/ML platforms, platform qualification, testing, and release certification.
- Strong scripting and automation skills using Python, PowerShell, Bash, JavaScript, or similar technologies; relevant cloud, DevOps, Terraform, Kubernetes, or security certifications are preferred.
