Responsibilities
- Work directly with customers to understand their most important problems and design data-driven solutions.
- Own end-to-end execution of high-stakes projects in small teams with minimal supervision.
- Discuss architecture with engineers, wrangle massive-scale data, and code custom web applications.
- Speak with customer executives and establish strategy for the team.
- Collaborate with other Forward Deployed Software Engineers, product teams, Deployment Strategists, and customers, often on-site.
- Learn and apply new technologies and languages to solve novel problems.
Requirements
- Fluent Japanese is required.
- Security clearance or the ability to obtain clearance is required.
- At least 1 year of relevant post-college work experience is required.
- A strong engineering background is preferred, particularly in Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Physics, or Data Science.
- Strong programming ability in languages such as Python, Java, C++, TypeScript/JavaScript, or similar is valued.
- Candidates should be analytical, comfortable with large-scale data and technical problem solving, collaborative with technical and non-technical teams, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to travel to client sites as needed and ability to travel 25–75% is required, depending on location and team.
