Responsibilities
- Streamline robot software installation, setup, version management, and field updates.
- Provide software support during deployment, troubleshoot issues, and handle complex repair-related failures.
- Analyze logs to identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and prevent recurrence.
- Develop internal tools for remote diagnostics, operations monitoring, deployment, setup, and automation.
- Drive technical standardization, operational improvement, and quality improvements using field data.
- Collaborate with integration and development teams and coordinate technical and operational matters with external partners and vendors.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of professional software development experience; robotics, embedded systems, IoT, or infrastructure experience is preferred.
- Development experience with Python and shell scripting.
- Practical Linux skills including system administration, networking, process management, and log management.
- Ability to debug and troubleshoot across software, networks, and hardware.
- Experience developing internal tools or automation for setup, deployment, or diagnostics.
- Experience using Git and Docker.
- Willingness to work hands-on with physical robots in the field.
- Japanese proficiency at JLPT N2 level or above and ability to communicate in English with the development team.
- Valid Japanese standard-vehicle driver's license, including manual-transmission qualification.
- Ability to read and debug C++ is preferred.
- ROS or ROS 2 experience is preferred.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, or ELK is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of cameras, depth sensors, and machine learning models for troubleshooting is preferred.
- Knowledge of hardware interfaces such as serial communication, CAN, or EtherCAT is preferred.
- AWS or GCP experience and Chinese communication ability are preferred.
Benefits
- Full-time indefinite-term employment with a three-month probationary period, extendable to six months.
- Based at the head office in Heiwajima, Ota-ku, Tokyo, with possible reassignment within the Greater Tokyo Area.
- Discretionary work system with deemed working hours of nine hours per day and reference hours of 10:00–19:00.
- Saturdays, Sundays, national holidays, and year-end/New Year holidays from December 28 to January 3.
- Salary review and promotion opportunities based on biannual OKR evaluations, subject to company policies.
- Full Japanese social insurance coverage.
- Domestic business travel may be required.
