Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, maintain, and support Workday Core Connector, EIB, and Workday Studio integrations through their full lifecycle.
- Architect and develop custom Workday Extend applications.
- Build and maintain Workday Prism Analytics pipelines for data transformation, enrichment, and reporting enablement.
- Identify and deliver AI-powered automations for HR and People Operations workflows.
- Develop and maintain MCP servers that securely expose Workday and other People systems data and actions to AI agents.
- Develop Workday Advanced and BIRT reports and calculated fields.
- Build and support benefits carrier and PECI integrations.
- Conduct design and code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and establish integration best practices.
- Document technical designs, data mappings, integration specifications, and runbooks.
- Track work in Jira and maintain documentation in Confluence or equivalent systems.
- Evaluate new Workday release features for adoption.
- Serve as technical owner for Workday, Qualtrics, Docebo, Udemy, and Greenhouse, including stability, configuration, integrations, and roadmap.
- Troubleshoot the broader People Technology ecosystem, manage vendor relationships, and partner with HR stakeholders.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of hands-on Workday integration experience across Core Connectors, inbound and outbound EIB, and Workday Studio.
- At least 3 years of payroll and benefits integration experience, including PECI, payroll interfaces, benefits carriers, and third-party payroll systems.
- At least 2 years of experience developing and shipping Workday Extend applications, including custom business objects, fields, orchestration, and UI development.
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience building Workday Prism pipelines, including source selection, transformation, and dataset publishing.
- Proven experience building AI-powered features, integrating LLMs into HR workflows, or using AI agents to reduce manual work.
- Deep proficiency in Workday Studio, XSLT, XPath, document transformations, and complex multi-step orchestrations.
- Experience with REST and SOAP APIs and Workday Web Services.
- Strong command of Workday reports and calculated fields for integrations and Extend.
- Ability to produce technical design documents, data mapping specifications, runbooks, and integration guides.
- Preferred experience with Workato, MCP servers, payroll migrations, Workday Integration Certification, Workday Orchestrate, HR/Payroll/Benefits operations, Workday security, Dayforce by Ceridian, and M&A-related People Technology workstreams.
