Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Node.js, Express.js, and Koa.
- Design MongoDB schemas, indexes, and queries, and work with SQL-based databases as needed.
- Build secure, reusable RESTful and GraphQL APIs with authentication and authorization systems.
- Implement security and data protection practices across APIs, data flows, and database systems.
- Debug production issues, analyze performance bottlenecks, and deploy fixes with minimal disruption.
- Collaborate with frontend developers, designers, and cross-functional teams to integrate server-side and frontend functionality.
- Document code, APIs, and database schemas.
- Contribute to AI integrations, LLM-driven workflows, agent-based systems, streaming services, and real-time applications.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of professional backend development experience using Node.js and MongoDB.
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript, asynchronous programming, concurrency, non-blocking I/O, and Node.js performance optimization.
- Experience with Express.js and Koa, including middleware, routing, validation, and error management.
- Experience with database schema design, query optimization, execution plans, and indexing.
- Proficiency with SQL-based databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL in addition to MongoDB.
- Familiarity with OAuth, JWT, secure authentication flows, token-based authentication, and role-based access control.
- Experience diagnosing and resolving production issues using logs and metrics.
- Familiarity with real-time audio/video streaming, low-latency architectures, or high-throughput media pipelines.
- Exposure to voice processing, speech-to-text, text-to-speech, VoIP integrations, or real-time communications.
- Experience integrating machine learning models or LLM APIs, managing inference workflows, prompt orchestration, or building AI-powered backend services.
- Experience designing agent-based systems, workflow automation, tool orchestration, state management, or event-driven intelligent systems.
- Understanding of API and backend security, encryption, data protection, testing, and debugging practices.
- Experience with Jest, Mocha, or Chai for unit and integration testing.
- Proficiency with Git.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, AWS, Azure, GCP, Docker, or Kubernetes is a plus.
- Familiarity with microservices, event-driven systems, Agile/Scrum, or Redis is preferred.
