Responsibilities
- Prepare technical design specifications and knowledge-transfer materials.
- Review requirements, analysis, and design documents and provide feedback.
- Implement, test, maintain, and support software based on technical specifications.
- Lead architecture, design, and implementation of scalable web services and distributed systems.
- Improve application quality, identify recurring issues, and develop standard operating procedures.
- Enhance and maintain existing codebases, conduct peer reviews, and participate in architecture and code reviews.
- Investigate and apply relevant technologies, including cloud and AI modernization solutions.
- Collaborate with colleagues, cross-functional teams, product stakeholders, and customer support.
- Mentor developers and lead project work where needed.
- Make independent technical decisions and participate in additional projects or duties as required.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in Java full-stack development and Java Enterprise Edition.
- At least 5 years of overall experience is required; the posting also cites 4+ years developing systems for large business environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; a master’s degree is a plus.
- Strong object-oriented design and service-oriented architecture skills, preferably implemented in Java.
- Strong experience leading architecture, design, and implementation of robust, highly scalable web services.
- At least 3 years of experience developing mission-critical, low-latency solutions for large business environments.
- At least 2 years of experience developing and debugging distributed systems and working with cloud-based big-data systems.
- Experience with AWS or Azure SaaS infrastructure, DevOps technologies, and extensive debugging.
- Understanding of unit, test-driven, functional, and performance testing.
- Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL database systems and data architecture.
- Experience with React, Pulsar, Snowflake, software security tools, shell scripting, cloud, DevOps, AI modernization, LLMs, automation, and engineering toolchains is preferred or valuable.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, presentation, facilitation, collaboration, decision-making, and customer-focused skills.
