Responsibilities
- Build and expand Cloudflare’s vector database offering for full-stack, AI-powered applications on Cloudflare’s global network.
- Own code from inception through release and deliver solutions across all layers of the software stack.
- Ensure continual reliability and best-in-class performance while implementing new features and functionality.
- Write design documents outlining solutions to specific technical problems.
- Modify how R2 Storage processes requests and fix software bugs, including user experience rendering issues.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience working with distributed systems or developing on cloud platforms.
- Experience managing high-volume software applications.
- Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented or functional design.
- Knowledge of at least one modern strongly typed programming language such as Go, Rust, or C++.
- Strong expertise in machine learning, including data processing and retrieval algorithms.
- Familiarity with vector databases and associated machine learning algorithms is a bonus.
- Experience in low-latency real-time environments such as game streaming, game engine architecture, high-frequency trading, or payment systems is a bonus.
- Experience debugging, optimizing, and identifying failure modes in a large-scale Linux-based distributed system is a bonus.
