Responsibilities
- Prepare technical design specifications and written knowledge-transfer materials.
- Review functional requirements, analysis, and design documents and provide feedback.
- Implement, test, maintain, and support software based on technical specifications.
- Lead architecture, design, and implementation of robust, scalable web services and distributed systems.
- Improve system quality by identifying issues and patterns, developing standard operating procedures, and debugging complex problems.
- Enhance existing applications and codebases through recommendations, system design, implementation, and peer code reviews.
- Participate in architecture, code, and technical design reviews.
- Investigate and adopt relevant new technologies, including AI-native tools and practices.
- Collaborate with colleagues and cross-functional teams to implement technical designs and deliver projects.
- Assist customer support with technical problems and questions.
- Mentor less-experienced developers and lead project work when needed.
- Translate AI innovation, automation, and LLM capabilities into business and productivity improvements.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of Java Full Stack Development experience.
- At least 2.5 years of experience developing systems or software for large business environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; a master’s degree is a plus.
- Strong object-oriented design and service-oriented architecture principles, with Java preferred.
- Experience leading the architecture, design, and implementation of robust and highly scalable web services.
- Experience with AWS and/or Azure SaaS infrastructure, DevOps technologies, and extensive debugging.
- Understanding of unit, test-driven, functional, and performance testing.
- At least 2 years of experience developing and debugging distributed systems and working with cloud-based big data systems.
- Experience with React is preferred.
- Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL database systems and data architecture.
- Experience with event buses such as Pulsar and cloud-based big data solutions such as Snowflake is preferred.
- Experience with software security-enhancing tools and practices and at least one shell scripting language.
- Understanding of big data, machine learning, LLMs, automation, and engineering toolchains.
- Ability to work across business strategy, product strategy, technical design, and implementation levels.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, presentation, facilitation, decision-making, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to drive results across cross-functional teams while balancing short- and long-term product goals.
