Responsibilities
- Prepare technical design specifications and written knowledge-transfer materials.
- Review requirements, analysis, and design documents and provide feedback.
- Implement, test, maintain, debug, and support software based on technical specifications.
- Design and implement scalable web services, distributed systems, and mission-critical applications.
- Improve existing codebases, identify quality issues and common patterns, and develop standard operating procedures.
- Conduct peer reviews, architecture reviews, and code reviews.
- Investigate and apply relevant new technologies.
- Collaborate with colleagues and cross-functional stakeholders to implement technical designs.
- Assist customer support with technical issues and questions.
- Lead technical work, mentor less experienced developers, and contribute to other projects as needed.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of Java full-stack development experience.
- At least 3 years of professional experience developing systems or software for large business environments.
- At least 2.5 years of Java Enterprise Edition experience.
- Strong object-oriented design and service-oriented architecture principles, preferably implemented in Java.
- Strong experience leading the architecture, design, and implementation of robust, highly scalable web services.
- Experience with AWS and/or Azure SaaS infrastructure, DevOps technologies, and extensive debugging.
- Understanding of unit, test-driven, functional, and performance testing.
- Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL database systems and data architecture.
- At least 2 years of experience developing and debugging distributed systems and working with cloud-based big data systems.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; a master's degree is a plus.
- React front-end development experience is preferred.
- Experience integrating with event buses such as Pulsar is preferred.
- Experience with cloud-based big data solutions such as Snowflake is preferred.
- Experience with software security-enhancing tools, shell scripting, cloud, DevOps, or AI modernization initiatives is preferred.
- Strong understanding of LLMs, automation, and engineering toolchains, with the ability to translate AI innovation into business and productivity impact.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, presentation, facilitation, decision-making, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
