Responsibilities
- Own the architecture and technical direction for agentic commerce in APAC.
- Lead large, ambiguous projects and break them down for parallel work.
- Make independent decisions and know when to escalate issues.
- Engage directly with strategic users to understand their needs.
- Write clear technical documents for asynchronous collaboration.
- Represent Stripe with senior users and partners, explaining technical ideas.
- Write and review code, maintaining high quality standards.
- Utilize AI tools to enhance workflows and productivity.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on long-term vision and roadmap.
- Teach and mentor engineers as the APAC team expands.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software engineering experience with hands-on architecture and coding.
- Proven track record as a technical lead on complex, external-facing products.
- Deep experience in software architecture and sound judgment under ambiguity.
- Ability to work independently and drive projects to completion.
- Superb written communication skills for clear documentation.
- Strong verbal communication skills for high-stakes conversations.
- Comfort in working directly with users to earn trust and understand needs.
- Experience using AI tools in daily work and holding their output to high standards.
- Ability to build alignment across teams without direct authority.
