Responsibilities
- Build measurement integrations connecting external IoT devices and grid operator APIs through Kafka, MQTT, IEC104, REST, and gRPC.
- Develop device registration, data normalization, ingestion, transformation, storage, and ID-mapping capabilities.
- Design and improve the measurement integration framework for faster, more reliable, and more observable source onboarding.
- Contribute to the ETL framework for importing and digitizing customer grid data from heterogeneous formats.
- Optimize components for performance, reliability, and transparency across batch and streaming workloads.
- Apply software engineering best practices and participate in code reviews, knowledge sharing, and squad ownership.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of relevant backend development experience focused on data engineering, API integration, or event-driven systems.
- A degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a comparable field.
- Practical experience with Python programming and common development best practices.
- Experience with SQL databases, preferably PostgreSQL or TimescaleDB, including data modeling and query design.
- Experience integrating external APIs or streaming systems such as Kafka, MQTT, REST, or gRPC.
- Ideally, familiarity with IoT or energy-domain protocols and real-time data pipelines.
- Business-fluent English at C1 level.
- Strong collaboration skills and an interest in solving complex technical problems with simple solutions.
