Base Salary
$154k - $185k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and scale tooling for cloud integrations and observability apps in Grafana Cloud
- Ship end-to-end features across user interfaces, backend services, dashboards, and alerts
- Work across TypeScript/React frontend code, Golang backend services, and Jsonnet monitoring mixins
- Own projects from problem statement through production and evaluate whether shipped work is effective
- Write design proposals, run demos, and represent the team’s roadmap in cross-team discussions
- Contribute upstream to Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, and Grafana Alloy
- Participate in the on-call rotation for owned services
Requirements
- Experience with both backend and frontend software engineering; Grafana Labs uses Go and TypeScript, while comparable languages may translate well
- Fluency with AI-assisted development, coding agents, and LLM tooling
- Working knowledge of the observability ecosystem, including Prometheus, Grafana dashboards, alerting, and production operations
- Strong written communication and the ability to work independently in a remote, distributed environment
- Interest in working across the full stack with a product-focused mindset
- Preferred experience contributing to or maintaining open-source projects
- Preferred experience with developer tooling serving a large user base
- Preferred experience building Grafana plugins, apps, or dashboards
- Preferred familiarity with Grafana Alloy, the OpenTelemetry Collector, or similar telemetry pipeline tooling
- Preferred experience writing Jsonnet or another configuration-as-code language
- Preferred experience being on-call for the systems being instrumented
