Base Salary
$152k - $205k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and optimize scalable backend systems for real-time data processing and web services.
- Own SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, reliability, latency, and cost for Core API services.
- Build observability using metrics, structured logging, distributed tracing, dashboards, and alerts.
- Participate in on-call rotations, respond to incidents, and lead blameless postmortems.
- Automate operational work, resolve incident follow-up actions, and improve system reliability.
- Perform capacity planning, load testing, and performance tuning to prepare for demand growth.
- Partner with cross-functional teams on integrations and mentor other engineers.
Requirements
- 5+ years of backend development experience, including operating production systems.
- Strong experience with Go, scalable APIs, real-time data processing, and microservices.
- Hands-on experience running production services with Docker and Kubernetes and using Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Experience with Datadog or comparable observability tooling, including dashboards and alerts.
- Production on-call experience involving incident triage, mitigation, and post-incident documentation.
- Strong SQL experience and familiarity with databases such as DynamoDB, Redis, or Elasticsearch.
- Proficiency with Git and shell scripting, and fluency in English.
- Ability to work independently in ambiguous environments, communicate directly with stakeholders, and mentor junior engineers.
- BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- Preferred experience includes ClickHouse, Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Databricks, SQS, Kafka, performance profiling, cloud cost optimization, Pinecone, Qdrant, concurrent programming, ML-adjacent product engineering, and internet security or privacy mechanisms.
