Base Salary
$152k - $205k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and optimize high-performance backend systems for real-time data processing and web services.
- Own SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets for Core API services.
- Build observability through metrics, structured logging, distributed tracing, dashboards, and alerts.
- Participate in on-call rotations, respond to incidents, and lead blameless postmortems.
- Reduce operational toil through automation and complete incident remediation actions.
- Perform capacity planning, load testing, and performance tuning.
- Partner with cross-functional teams on integrations and mentor other engineers.
Requirements
- 5+ years of backend development experience, including operating production systems.
- Strong experience with Go, scalable APIs, real-time data processing, and microservices.
- Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Experience with Datadog or comparable observability tooling, including service instrumentation, dashboards, and alerts.
- Experience triaging live incidents and mitigating production impact.
- Strong SQL skills and experience with DynamoDB, Redis, or Elasticsearch.
- Proficiency with Git and shell scripting, plus fluency in English.
- BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- Ability to work independently in ambiguous environments, engage directly with stakeholders, and mentor junior engineers.
- Preferred experience with ClickHouse, Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Databricks, SQS, Kafka, performance profiling, cost optimization, Pinecone, Qdrant, concurrent programming, or internet security and privacy mechanisms.
