Responsibilities
- Architect, design, implement, and review production-grade code for complex distributed payment systems.
- Own large-scale payment microservices, event-driven pipelines, caching systems, and real-time APIs.
- Optimize systems for performance, concurrency, throughput, reliability, cost efficiency, and data integrity under global loads.
- Lead adoption of distributed computing, fault tolerance, multi-region scaling, observability, CI/CD, and security best practices.
- Deliver mission-critical features to millions of users and participate in on-call and incident-prevention activities.
- Guide teams across web and mobile frontends, middleware, and backend services.
- Evaluate and deploy AI/ML technologies, AI agents, and intelligent automations into payment workflows.
- Mentor senior engineers and Sr. Staff-level peers and collaborate with product, design, and infrastructure leaders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 15+ years of software engineering experience with proven success in large-scale distributed systems.
- Deep expertise in full-stack development using Java, Go, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, or equivalent technologies.
- Strong experience with payment systems, microservices, event-driven systems, APIs, real-time data processing, concurrency, algorithms, data structures, and system design.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver rapidly and reliably in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
- Preferred: Master’s or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
- Preferred: Payment systems experience at a global fintech company such as Stripe, PayPal, Razorpay, JusPay, AliPay, Visa, Adyen, Square, or Mastercard.
- Preferred: Experience building and deploying AI agents, GenAI, RAG, workflow automation, or LLM systems in production.
- Preferred: Deep knowledge of distributed microservices, cloud-native architectures, Kubernetes, containerization, serverless systems, and multi-region scaling.
- Preferred: Publications, patents, or open-source contributions in distributed systems, payments, or AI applications.
- Fluent English is required; Korean is a plus, along with strong communication skills for global stakeholder collaboration.
