Responsibilities
- Lead architecture design for scalable, extensible, and reliable fulfillment technologies.
- Set the technology roadmap and future direction for the Global Operations Technology organization in alignment with stakeholders.
- Resolve technical obstacles and blockers at the organizational level.
- Decompose complex problems into practical solutions and help teams prioritize and move with urgency.
- Write code when necessary and contribute to high-priority projects.
- Identify business and technology opportunities and guide adoption of useful open-source and commercial technologies.
- Recruit and develop engineering talent.
- Drive automation and robotics initiatives.
Requirements
- 15+ years of experience developing and operating backend services and web applications.
- Demonstrated success delivering large, complex systems with significant business impact.
- Experience designing and developing large-scale distributed systems and architectures.
- Broad and deep understanding of storage, data processing, and serving technologies.
- Proficiency in object-oriented design and development.
- Strong familiarity with Java and the Spring Framework.
- Service development and operational experience in an AWS environment.
- Experience driving improvements in code quality.
